I changed to GE appliances after 30 years. Love the features on the appliance vented hood. The color is slate and looks great along with the new GE range and refrigerator. I have only had the appliance a few weeks but I am very pleased at this time.

It was a fairly easy install. We had to go from a 4" round vent and exhaust through an 8" wall to a rectangular vent and exhaust, and be able to cover the 4" exterior exit. So that took a little shopping to find the correct range hood exhaust vent cover, but the installation instructions can be viewed ahead of time on the GE website, and this really aided in finding that cover.
After that we ordered this GE range hood and it was installed in less than an hour. The design is exactly what we were looking for and the slate color is just amazing!
Wish the remote wasn't optional. Although you don't really need it. If you hold the off button (this is noted on the front), for 3 seconds, the system will shut off after 15 minutes all by itself. The lights that come with it are halogen and the do get very HOT so be careful.

I ordered this to match my slate gas range. Works awesome! Only issue we have now is it sticks 2 inches further out than our old one! Husband installed it and was the first person to crack his head on it ! Ouch ! Good thing I'm the cook of the house and short ! :)

This range hood is great as it has 3 speeds and a power boost speed. so 4 speeds. From low to super high each speed does what I need it to do depending on my cooking, and they all work wonderfully. The lighting is wonderful and bright, with a low setting as well.

When I installed it I had to remove the fan and reinstall it properly. Came from the factory without the pinch nut properly tightened so the fan was making contact with the hood. Fixed easily anough, but that's just terrible. But wait, it gets better... You can install this in three different ways, basically vented or unvented (my application. The latter of which uses a charcoal filter. The filter DOES NOT come with the unit, you have to purchase it seperately. That information is not made known anywhere in the information available to a prospective buyer. BUT IT GETS BETTER. If you go to their website the filter is out of stock and, according to other reviews posted there has been out of stock for a very long time. About 2/3 weeks ago I emailed GE and asked if there was any alternative. They have not bothered to respond. Do yourself a favor - dont buy this hood.

Looks great, however it has two bad features; too loud on speeds above low and some of the exhaust air vents into the kitchen. The deflector needs an enginer to re-design it. Needs to fit better or go to a different design.

Hood is fine but the stove it supports is not. The oven takes 45 to 60 to get to temperature and repeated calls to Ge they claim this is acceptable. This is not acceptable for a energy efficient product. We bought our first GE appliance in 1964 and have been well pleased

The hood was very easy to install In place of the 25 year old on that I took out. Looks nice. The function buttons are a little hard to read but once you figure them out they are very easy to use. The lights work good and should stay cleaner than our old one. It has a super high speed that work well when you first light the burners but it is out of balance so it vibrates quite a bit but it quite and smooth on medium and has plenty of suction for normal use.

I bought this mainly to match the range for a remodel of my kitchen. It's a little noisy, but I suppose that can't be helped given the fan needs to run a certain speed to work well. It lights up the range very well and looks fantastic.

Bought this range hood in April 2017 and it started giving out in 2019 & now 2020 the fans don't work.
It started out working for about 10 to 15 minutes, then it stop running and goes silent. This happen on all speeds..

We love this vent hood, it totally finishes off our new appliances. It is a little loud on the high setting but expected with how high the fan runs. The lights are nice and bright and have 2 settings which is nice for a night light. Overall very pleased.

With our new refrigerator, dishwasher and range, the range hood completes our kitchen. All four appliances are finished in the slate color and really look tremendous. The range hood has great lighting and runs quietly. Connecting the electricity and existing ventilation did take more than 10 minutes, though.

I've had my vent hood for 2 years and every time a light bulb goes out and we try to change it, the housing that holds the bulb breaks as it is made of cheap plastic. We have had to replace the housing for both lights 3 times now. Trying to get to the housing is almost impossible without bending the metal plate behind the lighting. The fan gates do not fit tightly and sometimes just fall for no reason. It is nice that they are removable to clean but after that they are hard to get to stay back in.

Thank you GE for making an under the counter range hood that matches the color of your appliances. No other manufacturer does, and it was one of the reasons I chose GE Profile appliances in slate. My kitchen could not fit an under the counter microwave, so I needed to replace my old range hood, and it was important that everything matched. The range hood is so much prettier than my old one, and the lights are nice and bright. I am very happy with this product.
